Abstract

The main feature in the assembling of pneumatic or hydraulic jack is the fact that the cylinder, the base and the head of the jack form a water tight container which cannot be disassembled. This lowers its fabrication costs and enables, if out of order, its substitution instead of more costly repairing operations. The head and base have chamfered cylindrical sections and tapering ends over which the cylinder beds are crimped. The cylindrical sections have annular grooves for sealing rings, the cylinder being deformed inwardly to compress the rings. The cylinder is a drawn tube.
