Abstract

A machine to carry out a series of laboratory analysis comprises a series of test tubes in gps, each gp. corresp to a sample being analysed carried on supports capable of being moved step-wise, a number of syringes with pneumatically controlled pistons, the controls being synchronised with the stepwise movement of the test-tubes, a means of transferring by pipettes the contents of one test-tube to the following one, allowing different reactants to be added to different quantities of sample, and a means of washing and drying the pipettes automatically between each transfer operation. The machine incorporates improvements to the machine described in the principal patent. The improvements bring about increased precision of dilution operations and of addn of reactants.
