Abstract

The beehive can be hung on wall of covered building for protection and is self cleaning. The unit consists of two sides, a front with a drop down door (31) used as the flight platform, and a base (30). The frame carrier (12) is angled at 45 deg. and made from plywood (13, 14,15, 16, 17, 18, 19) with insulation (20) between. The back only can be opened for handling the frames (23, 24, 25, 26). Normally, this is closed by an observation window (22). Inside, at the bottom, is the access (27) to the hive for the bees, which can be closed by a sliding shutter (28, 29). All debris falls through this hole.
