Abstract

The closing or fastening mechanism for e.g. bracelet with identity plaque and chain, embodies two back to back half links (6, 7) sliding transversely, w.r.t. chain length on the plate (1) also carrying two fixed half links (2, 3) flanking the sliding element and complementary to the effect that two complete links are formed when the catch is closed. The sliding element has an integral perpendicular pin which slides in a transverse slot (11) in the bearing plate; this pin projecting into an underside plate recess and being cotter sprung thereto. Slide opening permits placement or removal of the terminal bracelet link (5). The mechanism is pref. cast and moulded in metal.
