Abstract

The unit comprises a high frequency switching device such as a thyristor, which is controlled by a tuned circuit. The tuned circuit accepts the damped timing signal and uses this to synchronise its own oscillations. The output of the tuned circuit causes the thyristor output to change state and consequently produces the required high frequency clock edges. A d.c. voltage source is used and is connected to the switching transistor and to an impulse producing device. This device switches the thyristor on and off. The thyristor is connected with a capacitor and the primary of a transformer.
