Abstract

A method of clearing a path through a minefield, a section at a time, uses cone shaped explosive devices which are supported a suitable height above ground level above the area where the mines are buried, using a bridge shaped frame. A large number of the explosive devices may be placed in position by a sledge-like carrier (32) with a number of supporting frames (17) across it, each frame carrying a set of explosive devices, and a sufficient number of the carriers may be transported by a vehicle and arranged to clear a path through the minefield. An armoured tank (27) may drag a train of such sledge-like carriers.
