Abstract

This dual system has two pistons, one with pneumatic operation and the other with pneumatic-mechanical operation. The spindles of the pistons are touching each other. A kinetic chain makes the connection to the brake shoes on the wheel. The brake springs inside the cylinder, between the piston and the cylinder base, can be tensioned from outside after insertion. This dual system is easily and fully adjustable, and has greater reliability. Connecting sleeve between footbrake and emergency cylinders is axially adjustable by a centre mounted setscrew.
