Abstract

An A-D angle converter, has a coder giving two analogue signals proportional to the sine and cosine of the angle to be measured, a modulator with two symmetric inputs fed by the analogue signals and two counter-dividers fed with pulses from a clocking device. The first counter-divider provides two series of square waveforms in quadrature applied to the modulation inputs of the modulator. A pass band filter at the modulator output furnishes a sinusoidal signal out of phase with the angle to be measured with respect to the first series of square waves. A pulse generator fed by the sinusoidal signal furnishes pulses out of phase with the angle to be measured regarding the first series of square waves from the first counter-divider. An output memory has its p stages connected to the second counter-divider, the coupling being controlled by the out of phase pulses.
