Abstract

A scintillation counter used for intravernal measurement of beta-radiation doses consists of an optic fibre surrounded by a plastic sleeve to form a small chamber at the end, which is filled with a liq. scintillator. Used for direct measurement in an artery or vein. Device has greatly increased sensitivity due to the high solid angle of a capture and of signal transmission to the scintillation counter.
