Abstract

The sealing caps are held in a grip, whose jaws are spring-loaded into the closed position, and which moves about a horizontal axis between the horizontal and vertical positions, the axis extending radially on a unit rotating continuously about a vertical axis, and the grip also moves up and down. A fixed cam holds the grip in the upper position for most of a unit revolution, while a second fixed cam causes the grip to pivot and a third cam opens the jaws when the grip is in the desired angular position. A fourth cam swings the grip from the vertical to the horizontal position, and a fifth cam opens the jaws when the grip is in a second angular position and down. The stacked caps are delivered tangentially to the grip circular trajectory.
