Abstract

The conveyor is placed between groups of entry and exit conveyor belts, and guides objects from an entry to an exit as required. The conveyor consists of endless side chains driving a belt of rollers and transverse bars. The axis of the rollers is parallel to the direction of movement of the driving chains. Slides on the transverse bars have extensions which engage deflector plates beneath the level of the rollers. The slides are pushed across the width of the conveyor, moving objects on the conveyor transversely. Displaced slides are returned during their passage underneath the conveyor by a return deflector plate. Various deflector configurations can be used, according to the required number of possible direction changes.
