Abstract

The compass legs fit into an inverted U-section support clip surmounted by cap button. The legs may swivel about pivots normal to the faces of the U-section piece. A nut attached to the top end of each of the compass legs screws into a countersunk head screw to which it is opposed and secures a toothed gear wheel segment which meshes with a similar segment attached to the other leg.
