Abstract
Foaming of a melt is produced in a heated, pressure variable crucible, by the liberation of pre-dissolved hydrogen when the pressure is lowered and/or by the release of carbon monoxide opt. accompanied by a lowering of the pressure. Pref. the metals used are Al, Fe, Ti and their alloys.
