Abstract

Synthetic linear (co)polyamide is stabilised against the action of heat, oxygen and light by incorporating (I) 0.005-0.5 wt.%, based on polyamide, of a sterically hindered phenol having a sec. or tert. alkyl, or cycloalkyl group, (II) 10-1000 esp. 25-250 ppm P in the form of a reducing P cpd. and (III) 0.005-0.5 wt.% reducing S cpd. in the form of a metal salt, ammonium salt, or an org. ester of thiophosphonic acid thiodipropionic acid and/or thiocarbamic acid. Specif. (II) is orthophosphorous acid, metaphosphorous acid, pyrophosphorous acid, phenylphosphinic acid, or a salt or ester of these acids. The (co)polyamide pref. also contains an ethoxylated antistatic cpd.
