Abstract

Insecticidal compsns based on blastospores with improved viability during storage in which the spores are collected by filtration or centrifugation using a powdered inert carrier and dehydrated in presence of a protective compsn comprising an aq. soln of sucrose and sodium glutamate, and paraffin oil contg 10% w/w of polyoxyethylene oleate glyceride. Pref. compsns have a spore/carries ratio of 0.5-1.5 w/w. The pref. protective compsn. for each kg of spores is 100-300 ml of soln contg. 100-300g sucrose and 1-10g sodium glutamate, and 150-300 ml paraffin oil contg 10% glyceride. A pref. spore is from Beauveria tenella.
