Abstract

A sliver has one or more fibrous strands (e.g. sliver, roving yarn) of different fibres (e.g. synthetic or natural) incorporated in it to increase the resistance to tensile forces. Pref. the fibres strand in incorporated during drafting or into a fibrous lap prior to it being condensed into a sliver. Sliver breakages during doubling or drafting are reduced.
