Abstract

Thermoplastic multifilament yarn is textured by advancing it in a stream of heated fluid e.g. steam, from a tube to hurl it against a foraminous surface with sufficient force to compression crimp the filaments while at least some of the fluid passes through the foraminous surface. The yarn rebounds from the surface in a standlike stream and is lead away to be collected.
