Abstract

Device for texturing yarn has a drum with a centre line and a surface, and guides which can rotate around the centre line in order to place the yarn on the surface, the arrangement being such that the yarn is placed on the surface and then removed from the surface so that the yarn on the surface moves axially. Device is used for texturing yarn e.g. when a heated drum is used the crimp can be removed from parts of a crimped yarn to give a partly crimped and partly non-crimped yarn. A yarn can also be crimped intermittently.
