Abstract

Composite textiles comprising a layer of plastic sheet between two layers of fabric where the plastic sheet has an uneven surface which will impart a grained or rough texture to the textile. Pref. segments of the composite sheet can be cut out using tools which simultaneously weld the layers together, isolate the segment and provide a pattern of simulated stitching near the borders of a the segment. Esp. suitable for mfg. collars, cuffs or lapels for shirts or blouses to obtain a more appealing appearance or feel than with use of smooth internal stiffening.
