Abstract

In a process for fabricating dentures one face for the reception of the teeth is of hard material pref. a metal plate which is enamelled to provide a surface to which the soft material, partic. a silicone, will adhere. To assist adhesion the metal plate may be provided with a rough surface such as a metal gauze or metal balls, before applying the enamel. The latter may be applied hot or cold and may a glass base, pref. the artificial teeth are bonded to the metal plate by synthetic resin retaining elements which become welded to the teeth during polymerisation. The invention allows the use of a thin metal plate is used with satisfactory adhesion to the soft backing.
