Abstract

Impact resistant thermoplastic resin compsn. contains (I) 10-75% wt. acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene polymer, (II) 10-65% wt. linear thermoplastic polyarylene-polyethsulphone resin, and (III) 10-65% wt. thermoplastic polycarbonate resin contg. repeating units of formula III. (where A is a divalent aromatic gp. of a phenol contg. two hydroxyl gps. each bonded directly to a C atom of the aromatic ring). The compsn. combines a very high impact resistance, excellent flow characteristics, and a high thermal deformation temp. Complicated articles can be rapidly moulded. The mouldings have a good surface finish.
