Abstract

Foodstuff portions are presented in the form of a lolly with a wooden stick; instead of being soluble in the saliva and consumed by sucking, the material forms a mass which can only be eaten by detaching pieces with the teeth. The foodstuff, in which the stick has already been placed, is coated with a paste, pref. just prior to consumption, and cooked so that the paste assumes a rigid and crusty consistency. This form of presentation allows food prods., e.g. cheeses, pizza, quiche lorraine etc. to be consumed in an original and popular manner. The cooked material may be covered with cellophane or aluminium foil.
