Abstract

Recharging of an electrochemical generator, partic. a zinc-air accumulator, having at least one positive and one negative electrode, by carrying out recharging using an alternating current such that the quantity of electricity supplied during the period of cathodic current is greater than that supplied to the negative electrode as anodic current. Pref. current frequency is 5-500, esp. 50-60 H2 and effective cathodic current is 50 mA/cm2, esp. is approx. 90mA/cm2 for Zn electrode, and effective anodic current is 100 mA/cm2 esp. is approx. 15 mA/cm2 for Zn electrode.
