Abstract

Refractory workpiece support plates for carrying ceramic parts through a furnace and of square or rectangular shape are provided with decompression slits extending along the diagonals from the corners towards the central part. Such plates are stronger and more thermal shock resistant than similar plates having slits extending from the centres of the sides, as in current practice.
