Abstract

Fluid droplets of 1,1-peroxydicyclohexylamine in an inert gas stream are maintained at elevated temp. pref. 250-1000 degrees C esp. 300-600 degrees C and at a pressure 300 mm Hg to 3 at. absolute, to give derivs. of 1, 12, -dodecandiacid in which the nitrogen atom is linked to the C12 carbon atom e.g. decane-1,10-dicarbonimide or 11-cyano:indecanoic acid. Stay time is pref. 0.05-5 secs. Products obtd depend on reaction conditions.
