Abstract

Title cpd. is prepared by evaporating under vacuum, the starch hydrolysate (used as a separating fluid) having a dextrose equiv. >95, pref. 96 to 98 and a dry solids content of 45 to 65%, and stirring until the dextrose supersaturation is 10 to 65%, pref. 20 to 60%, catalysing the crystallisation and continuing until 20 to 50% of the total solids are separated as crystals and finally isolating the anhydrous dexcross crystals from the remaining liq. phase. A high yield of crystalline anhydrous dextrose is readily obtd. by this batchwise process and ordinary evaporation equipment can be used.
