Abstract
Water resistance of cement, mortar and concrete is improved by the addition of at least 0.005% (pref. 0.05-5%) pbw based on dry cement of a 6 - 16C alkenyl succinic acid or the corresp. anhydride or soluble salt. May be mixed with cement slurry or painted on the outside of mortar. Examples illustrate use of mono and tetra n decenyl succinic anhydrides.
