Abstract

Resin is introduced into a hollow rotating mould by programmed delivery onto a spinning disc distributor mounted on the end of a cantilevered mandrel which can be inserted down the length of the mould and withdrawn at a programmed rate. Resins and catalysts are supplied from pressurised reservoirs or by pumps to twin nozzles impinging on the disc: four nozzles may be used if different mixes are required sequentially to impregnate and then coat reinforcement (glass) matting lining the mould. Method is esp. suitable for casting reinforced plastic pipes with vrying dimensions and wall-thickness.
