Abstract
Separation of fine droplets or dust particles from gas streams Transverse to the flow of gas in a series of partly overlapping parallel blades set at an angle to the flow and having each at its trailing edge a collector channel of which the opening lies in or behind the corresponding (impact) face to the blade. The minimum distance 'b' between the back of one blade in the vicinity of the collector channel and the produced impact face of the adjoining blades relative to the transverse pitch 'a' of the blades and as a function of the inlet speed w (>1m/sec) of the gas is given by b>a ( 3 / We +3 + 3 square root of 8.10-6 / We - 0.1 / We ) -0.05.
