Abstract
An electrolytic liquid is fed into the processing gap between the operating electrode and the workpiece. The gap is formed by the hydrostatic pressure of the electrolyte between the electrode and the workpiece. The operating electrode floats on the workpiece by its application on the electrolyte film formed there. The liquid electrolyte consists of a liquid having good electrical conductivity, and the electrical contact is effected after the electrolyte film is formed. The contact is opened before the electrolyte film is disengaged.
