Abstract

0.02-0.5% of a 1-hydroxy-4-aminoanthraquinone which contains an N-substituted aryl residue such as Ph, toluyl, or chloro-, bromo-, Et-, or dimethylphenyl, is dissolved, optionally at 40 deg.-50 deg.C. in an alpha-cyano-acrylic alkyl ester monomer. Specifically the monomer contains 0.04-0.2% of 1-hydroxy-4-paratoluidino-anthraquinone. The product can be used as a pre-polymerised covering or dressing for wounds, and is antiseptic.
