Abstract

The invention relates to a method and calendering arrangement for calendering of an absorbent layer formed by means of a dry forming technique. The dry-formed material web 2 is introduced into the nip 8 formed by the calender rolls 4, 5 by means of wires, which on at least one side of the material web consists of a transfer wire 6 and one or more pattern wires 7 laid on top of this, and the material web is calendered against the wires 6, 7, so that a relief pattern is produced on the surface of the calendered material web 3 corresponding to the pattern of the said one or more pattern wires 7. <IMAGE>
