Abstract

Method and arrangement in a papermaking machine, with whose shaper one removes the water from the fibre layer being formed into a paper web W pressed between two opposite wire gauzes 10, 20. In order to improve the formation at the web W being formed without worsening the retention, the forming zone 10, W, 20 of the web is constrained with double wire gauze on a trajectory with variable direction, whose changes in direction produce a vibrating force field zone F in the fibre layer being formed, at which zone the formation of the web W is improved. The dewatering is prevented primarily on the aforesaid zone F of the web W by both of the wire gauzes 10, 20. The zone with double wire gauze is constrained along a slightly curved, preferably sine-shaped trajectory, at least for one wavelength, λ. The content of dry substance ka of the web W formed at said force field zone F is within the range of ka approximately 2 percent to 10 percent, preferably within the range of 2 percent to 6 percent. <IMAGE>
