Abstract

Elongated, paste-like, sticky sealant body (10) is applied to outer roofing surface (11) utilising cover sheet material (13) applied to at least a pair of its opposite side surfaces to enable them to be gripped to press an exposed side surface into adhering contact with the roofing surface. The cover sheet material is subsequently removed and the sealant body sandwiched between the roofing surface and a roofing element (37). Pref. the outer roofing surface is corrugated, being defined by the outer surfaces of roofing tiles, and the elongated sealant body is applied transversely to the corrugations, the roofing element esp. being a ridge element (37). A side surface of the sealant body may have a corrugated shape but the body as a whole has a rectangular cross-section. Three side surfaces of the body are covered by sheet material and one side surface is exposed. The cover sheet material is a foamed plastic film, esp. polyethylene.
