Abstract

The invention relates to a device 11 for treating glass sheets, which device comprises an oven 15 and a bending station 16 opposite which runs a conveyor 24 for carrying glass sheets 13. Several heating members have been installed in the oven 15, each of which heats adjacent areas of the glass sheets 13 in accordance with adjustable values for temperature signals representing desired temperature values for heating the areas in question of the glass sheets 13. One or more of the parameters of the glass sheets, such as thickness and colour, is/are detected and the adjustable signal values are altered analogously. The parameter values are also used for altering the space between the upper 64 and lower 65 mould parts in the bending station 16 in order to regulate the bending pressure which is exerted on the glass sheets 13. The parameters are also used for altering the speed of the conveyor parts and varying the time during which the glass sheets are in the oven and thus the quantity of heat which has been imparted to the glass sheets. <IMAGE>
