Abstract

The invention concerns a steam and condensate coupling for drying cylinders 10 of a paper machine. In the coupling design the steam and condensate tubes 13, 17 are passed within D cylinders 10. Steam is supplied via steam tube 13. Condensate is withdrawn via condensate tube within cylinder D. The steam and condensate coupling of the paper machine's drying cylinder 10 includes an annular seal 24 with grooves in which the pressure of a medium can be controlled in groove C within seal 24 and said annular seal 24 with grooves includes a spring within the annular seal. A slide ring 37 is connected to the one lip 24a of seal 24. Slide ring 34 is pressed firmly against a rotating flange surface 32a of cylinder 10 being compressed with the spring force of at least one spring 36 that includes annular seal 24 with grooves and during a normal operating situation by means of liquid or steam pressure introduced into space C within ring annular seal 24 with grooves. <IMAGE>
