Abstract

The invention concerns a procedure and arrangement for lagging a drainage pipe 1. The drain pipe's 1 outer surface is lagged so that it will be capable of receiving the maximum flow of water without the risk of blockage. According to the invention, a filling material 5 is used for this purpose, which material has good permeability and a thickness that can be varied. The filling material 5 is carried along outside the pipe 1 by a screw conveyor 2, where it is kept in place by a fibre matting 6 around which wire 13 is wound. The quantity of filler material 5 carried onto the surface of the drain pipe 1 is determined by the number and height of the threads on the screw conveyor 2, and by its speed. The arrangement comprises a machine which is formed of a conveyor pipe 3 and a tubular screw conveyor 2 running inside the pipe, whereby the drainage pipe 1 is carried through inside the screw conveyor 2, while on the outside a fibre matting 6 is spread out on the conveyor pipe 3 for application of the lagging. After that, wire 13 is wound around the fibre matting 6 at the end of the screw conveyor 2. <IMAGE>
