Abstract
The invention relates to a method for producing uniformly sized particles of water-insoluble pharmaceutical preparations or other organic compounds. A suitable, solid, organic compound is first dissolved in an organic solvent and the solution may be diluted with a non- solvent. An aqueous, precipitating liquid is then introduced, non-aggregated particles being precipitated with a uniform mean diameter. The particles are then separated from the organic solvent. Parameters such as temperature, the ratio of non-solvent to organic solvent, the rate of introduction, the agitation speed and the volume can be varied depending on the organic compound and the required particle size. <IMAGE>
