Abstract

Air vent as a blood arrester for medical conduits or cannulae, comprising at least one capillary air duct, characterized in that a tubular element (12) whose inside (14) communicates with the conduit or cannula is closed by a caP (16; 25), that one of two coacting circumjacent faces (15, 17; 22, 23) of the tubular element (12) and of the cap (16; 25) extends coaxially with the tubular element or cap and contains at least one helical groove which establishes a connection between the inside of the tubular element and the outside air and that at least one of the two faces (15, 17; 22, 23) contains a blood-coagulating substance.
