According to the invention, the snow thrower comprises a rear plate attached to the rear part of the frame, mainly the width of the frame. This back plate acts as a plowing plate when the snow thrower is moved backwards, whereby it can be used to push snow which cannot be removed with a conventional snow thrower out of the area to be cleaned.
