Bottom plug - Bottenpropp

The invention relates to a bottom plug for smooth-bottomed basins, in particular sink basins.

Today, the bottom of the sink is smooth and usually has six holes in the same circumference that act as an outlet connection. The retention of such a pool bottom plug is uncertain because nothing holds it up against upward forces. The current plug has only three straight pins that only work to guide the bottom plug into place, but they do not secure the plug in any way.

It is an object of the invention to provide a bottom plug which locks the bottom plug in place. To achieve this object, the invention is characterized in that a notch substantially perpendicular to the axis of the pin is formed in the retaining pin.

The main advantage of the plug according to the invention is that when the plug is turned, the notch in the plug is placed at the edge of the outlet hole, locking the plug in place. To remove the plug, turn the plug in the opposite direction.

According to Figs. The retaining pin 6 is provided with a notch 7 which is substantially perpendicular to the axis of the pin 6. In addition, the plug is provided with an elastic sealing layer 4, preferably of rubber or plastic, partially attached between the gripping part 2 and the locking part 5. The sealing layer 4 prevents water from entering the drainage holes when the plug 1 is in place. The material of the gripping part 2 and the locking part 5 is preferably ABS plastic.

The plug 1 can also be formed in one piece or in two pieces, the material preferably being soft plastic.

The bottom plug 1 is used in such a way that the plug is inserted into the outlet holes 9 in the bottom 8 of the basin 10 under the guidance of the retaining pins 6. The plug is then turned slightly clockwise by means of the holder 3, whereby the notches 7 in the retaining pins are placed against the edge of the outlet opening 9, locking the plug 1 in place. To open, turn the plug in the opposite direction.
