Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of and an apparatus for oxidizing white liquor by using the steps of allowing white liquor flow in a flow pipe (44) in a flow direction at a flow velocity, injecting oxidizing gas into white liquor in a direction transverse to the flow direction of the white liquor flow by means of an injection liquid, and providing the oxidizing gas and the injection liquid with an injection velocity at least three times the flow velocity of white liquor.
