Abstract
Menetelmässä virtausmittarin kalibroimiseksi sovitetaan prosessiputkeen (2) ainakin kaksi mittaussuoran (5) välin päähän toisistaan sovitettua akustista sensoria (7, 8) ja syötetään prosessiputkessa (4) virtaavaan fluidiin määrätyn sekoitusmatkan (3) päässä ensimmäisestä mittauspisteestä (7) merkkiainetta (6). Virtaavan fluidin virtausnopeuden hetkellinen referenssiarvo mitataan määrittämällä akustisen merkkiaineen (6) kulkuaika ainakin kahden samalla mittaussuoralla (5) olevan sensorin (7, 8) välillä ilmaisemalla merkkiaineen (6) suhteellinen pitoisuusvaste akustisilla sensoreilla (7, 8). Tätä mitattua arvoa verrataan virtausmittarin (4) näyttämään. Merkkiaineen sekoitusmatka (3) sovitetaan ainakin niin pitkäksi, että merkkiaine (6) on mittauspisteessä (7) fluidiin koko virtaustien poikkileikkauksessa.
