CONSISTE EN EL CALENTAMIENTO DE UNA MEZCLA REACCIONAR FORMADA POR UN ANHIDRIDO MALEICO, POR UN DISOLVENTE AROMATICO REACTIVO, POR UN ALCOHOL O UN GILCOL DE 4 ATOMOS DE CARBONO A LO SUMO O UN ESTER DE ESTE ALCOHOL O GLICOL CON ACIDO MALEICO, Y POR UN PEROXIDO DE DIBUTILO TERCIARIO. A CONTINUACION SE REALIZA LA HIDROLISIS DEL POLIMERO RESULTANTE. EN LA MEZCLA REACCIONAL SE UTILIZA UN DISOLVENTE AROMATICO REACTIVO, TAL COMO EL XILENO, UN TRIMETILBENCENO O UN ETILBENCENO O UNA MEZCLA DE ELLOS.
