CONSISTE EN APLICAR UNA DISOLUCION ACUOSA, QUE CONTIENE AGENTES QUELATANTES, TALES COMO ACIDO ETILENDIAMINOTETRAACETICO, ACIDO EXALICO Y ACIDO CITRICO, AL RECUBRIMIENTO CONTAMINADO PARA SU SOLUBILIZACION, A UNA TEMPERATURA ENTRE 75JC Y 150JC; PASAR LA DISOLUCION ACUOSA QUE CONTIENE LOS IONES METALICOS CONTAMINADOS A TRAVES DE UN ELECTRODO POROSO DE ACERO INOXIDABLE DE CORRIENTE CONTINUA PARA ELECTRODEPOSITAR LOS CITADOS IONES METALICOS; Y, FINALMENTE, RETORNAR LA DISOLUCION ACUOSA, EXENTA DE LOS IONES METALICOS, SOBRE EL RECUBRIMIENTO. EL APARATO EMPLEADO CONSTA DE UN CONTENEDOR PARA LA DISOLUCION ACUOSA, UN CATODO POROSO Y MEDIOS PARA HACER CIRCULAR LA DISOLUCION. TIENE APLICACIONES PARA LA ELIMINACION DE DEPOSITOS QUE CONTIENEN ELEMENTOS RADIACTIVOS EN LOS SISTEMAS DE REFRIGERACION DE LOS REACTORES NUCLEARES.
