Abstract

1. Latching device actuatable by means of an electric motor, in which a push rod can be moved between two end positions by an electric motor via a gear, the gear (2, 6, 15, 16) has an amount of play which is equivalent to at least the stroke between the end positions of the push rod (5) and, after a movement of the push rod (5) has taken place, the gear (2, 6, 15, 16) can be moved by the amount of play in the direction opposite to the movement of the push rod, characterized in that, for an operation of the latching device, in each case the motor (3) is supplied for a predetermined time with a voltage of corresponding polarity, and in that, after elapse of the predeterminable time, a pulse of opposite polarity can be applied to the motor (3) in such a way that the motor (3) and the gear (2, 6, 15) are moved in opposite direction by the amount of play.
