PROCEDIMIENTO PARA RECUPERAR AZUFRE ELEMENTAL DE UNA CORRIENTE GASEOSA QUE CONTIENE SULFURO DE HIDROGENO. CONSISTE EN PONER EN CONTACTO UNA CORRIENTE GASEOSA CONTAMINADA CON UNA SOLUCION ACUOSA TAMPONADA RICA EN IONES TIOSULFATO EN UNA PRIMERA ZONA DE REACCION, A UN PH DE 4,5 A 6,5 Y DURANTE EL TIEMPO SUFICIENTE PARA QUE UNA PORCION DEL SULFURO DE HIDROGENO (H2S) DE LA CORRIENTE GASEOSA SE CONVIERTA EN AZUFRE ELEMENTAL, REDUCIENDO CON ELLO EL TIOSULFATO A AZUFRE ELEMENTAL. LA SOLUCION ACUOSA LIMPIA DE IONES TIOSULFATO PASA A UNA SEGUNDA ZONA DE REACCION PARA PONERSE EN CONTACTO CON LA CORRIENTE GASEOSA EN PARTE LIMPIA DE H2S PERO ENRIQUECIDA CON UNA CANTIDAD ESTEQUIOMETRICA DE OXIGENO, CON LO QUE EL H2S PRESENTE SE OXIDA A TIOSULFATO QUE ENRIQUECE LA SOLUCION ACUOSA. LA CORRIENTE GASEOSA LIMPIA DE H2S SE SEPARA, Y LA SOLUCION ACUOSA ENRIQUECIDA CON TIOSULFATO SE RECICLA A LA PRIMERA ZONA DE REACCION. DE APLICACION PARA ELIMINAR EL SULFURO DE HIDROGENO EN CORRIENTES GASEOSAS CONTAMINADAS: GASES DE VENTILACION, GASES EFLUENTES DE REFINERIA.
