CONSISTE EN LA REACCION DE HIDRATO DE HIDRAZINA, O MONOFORMILHIDRAZINA, CON ACIDO FORMICO, O FORMAMIDA, EN LA RELACION MOLAR 1:2 A 1:2,5, EN PRESENCIA DE UN DISOLVENTE INERTE QUE HIERVE ENTRE 40JC Y 120JC, QUE FORMA CON AGUA UNA MEZCLA AZEOTROPA, A LA TEMPERATURA DE EBULLICION. EL AGUA CONTENIDA EN LA MEZCLA Y LA FORMADA DURANTE LA REACCION, SE ELIMINAN MEDIANTE DESTILACION AZEOTROPICA.ESTE COMPUESTO TIENE APLICACION COMO PRODUCTO INTERMEDIO PARA LA OBTENCION DE 1,2,4-TRIAZOL Y DE SUS DERIVADOS.
