PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA PREPARACION DE DERIVADOS DE PENEM. SE HACE REACCIONAR EL COMPUESTO (II) EN QUE R<4 ES UN ATOMO DE CLORO O BROMO Y R<5 ES UN GRUPO ALCOHILO O UN GRUPO FENILO, CON UNA BASE. SE OBTIENE EL COMPUESTO (I) EN QUE R ES UN ATOMO DE HIDROGENO O UN GRUPO ESTERIFICANTE DE CARBOXILO Y R>1 ES UN GRUPO FENILO, NAFTILO, TIENILO, PIRIDILO, QUINOLEILO O ISOQUINOLEILO. OPCIONALMENTE SE PUEDE TRANSFORMAR EL COMPUESTO OBTENIDO EN EL ACIDO LIBRE CORRESPONDIENTE O BIEN TRANSFORMAR DICHO ACIDO EN UN ESTER DEL MISMO; TRANSESTERIFICAR EL COMPUESTO (I) SEPARAR CUALESQUIERA GRUPOS PROTECTORES PRESENTES DIFERENTES DE UN GRUPO ESTERIFICANTE R O CONVERTIR UN SUBSTITUYENTE DEL GRUPO R EN OTRO DEL MISMO GRUPO R .
