Abstract

The disc brake is housed in a stirrup (6) carried on an anchor bar (5). The brake has a fixed pad and a moveable pad. The moveable pad is returned by a coil spring carried on a pin at right angles to the disc (9). Each of the pads are carried at the ends of a flexible support which is fixed to the arm (5). The system is joined to the hub (4) which also supports the fork (2). The mounting ensures that the pressure on the disc is normal to the plane of the disc.
